Study of the Ciprofloxacin Adsorption of Activated Carbon Prepared from Mangosteen Peel

چکیده

In this study, activated carbon derived from mangosteen peel (abbreviated as ACMP) was successfully fabricated. This as-prepared ACMP possessed graphite and had a porous structure with specific surface area of 419.8554 m2/g. Investigations the influencing factors on ciprofloxacin (CIP) adsorption capability based static method showed that: equilibrium can be achieved in 60 min, optimal pH for CIP 6, ratio between material mass solution volume 3 g/L. The process follows Langmuir, Freundlich, Tempkin, Elovich, Redlich–Peterson isotherm models. maximum capacity calculated according to Langmuir isothermal model (qmax = 29.76 mg/g). followed apparent quadratic kinetic equation, well spontaneous, endothermic, physical, chemical adsorption. rate governed by membrane diffusion.
